Coming Soon: New Permitting System

The launch date for SDCI’s new permitting technology is fast approaching!

All permitting, licensing, inspections and complaints functions will be converting to the system over the Memorial Day Weekend. We will offer limited services on the Friday before the weekend and the following Tuesday due to the complex nature of our data and the magnitude of the system. Our new integrated system will be up and fully functional on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.

In preparation for the change, we are training staff to be proficient in the new technology during the 6 weeks preceding the launch. We will minimize review and processing delays, and we will continue to authorize overtime to help keep up. We anticipate that the new system will be easier to use, improve access to information, and integrate with other City of Seattle customer applications.  However, we expect some temporary decrease in production as we retire the old system and transition to the new.

We’ll provide more detailed information about what services will be impacted as we get closer to the date.

Changes to Priority Green Expedited Adopted

[Reposted from the Department of Planning and Development’s (DPD) Building Connections blog.]

DPD has implemented new requirements for Priority Green Expedited, a green building permitting incentive.

In December 2013, DPD published the proposed changes and held an open house on the proposed changes on January 23, 2014. DPD received many comments at the open house, and continued to receive comments through February. Thank you to everybody who participated and provided feedback.
