Updated: 6th Ave Paving Project Closures to Begin on 5/7


Several closures related to the 6th Ave Paving Project will begin during evening hours on Monday, May 7 and Tuesday, May 8. The closure will allow crews on the 6th Ave Paving Project to complete grinding work on 6th Ave between Marion St and Yesler Way in preparation for paving later this month. Thank you for your patience while this work is being completed.

What to expect from 8 p.m. Monday, May 7 to 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, and from 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 to 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 9:

  • 6th Ave will be closed to all vehicular traffic from Marion St to Yesler Way while crews complete grinding work
  • Intersection closures along 6th Ave during work hours include:
    • Jefferson St
    • Cherry St
    • Columbia St
    • Marion St for traffic turning southbound onto 6th Ave
  • The southbound I-5 onramp at 6th Ave & James St (Jefferson St) will be closed starting at 11 p.m.
  • The southbound I-5 offramp to James St (Columbia St) will be reduced to one lane
  • The northbound I-5 onramp from Cherry St will only be accessible from 7th Ave & James St
  • Intersection of 6th Ave and Cherry St will be closed

 

  • No access to parking garages and loading zones off 6th Ave during work hours

Temporary Closure of Burke Gilman Trail between Phinney Ave N and Stone Way N, December 9 – 10

SEATTLE – The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) advises travelers that the Burke Gilman Trail will be closed between Phinney Avenue N and Stone Way N from Saturday, December 9 through Sunday, December 10 for repairs and pavement patch work. A detour will be in place during this time. This work is weather-dependent and subject to change.

From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily beginning Saturday, December 9, until Sunday, December 10 travelers can expect:

  • The Burke Gilman Trail will be closed to all travelers between Phinney Ave N and Stone Way N
  • Signed detours will be in place directing cyclists and pedestrians onto N 34th Street

Paving on NE 50th St near 18th Ave NE October 17 – 18

The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) advises travelers that crews will be repaving NE 50th Street between 18th Avenue NE and 20th Avenue NE starting Tuesday, October 17 to Wednesday, October 18.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, beginning Tuesday, October 17 to Wednesday, October 18, travelers can expect:

  • NE 50th Street will be closed to all traffic during work hours
    • Street will be detoured
    • Includes business/home deliveries
    • Uniformed Police Officers will assist traffic in the area
  • No parking on NE 50th Street in the work zone
    • “No Parking” signs will be placed 72 hours prior to start of work
  • Driveway and alley access will be limited but accessible overnight
  • Metro buses and bus stops will not be impacted, but riders may experience minor delays through the work zone
  • Sidewalks will not be impacted

Paving on 1st Avenue NE near N 117th St

The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) advises travelers that crews will be repaving 1st Avenue NE between N 117th and N 120th Streets, in front of Northgate Elementary starting Friday, October 13 to Saturday, October 14.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, beginning Friday, October 13 to Saturday, October 14, travelers can expect:

  • 1st Avenue NE will be closed to all traffic during work hours
    • Street will be detoured
    • Includes business/home deliveries
    • Uniformed Police Officers will assist traffic in the area
  • No parking on 1st Avenue NE in the work zone
    • “No Parking” signs will be placed 72 hours prior to start of work
  • Driveway and alley access will be limited but accessible overnight
  • Northgate Elementary students/buses will not be impacted, school is not in session on Friday Oct 13
  • Sidewalks will not be impacted

Paving on N Northlake Way near Meridian October 7 – 8

SEATTLE – The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) advises travelers that crews will be repaving N Northlake Way between Meridian and N 36th Street starting Saturday, October 7 to Sunday, October 8.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, beginning Saturday, October 7 to Sunday, October 8, travelers can expect:

  • N Northlake Way will be closed to all traffic during work hours
    • Including bikes
    • Street will be detoured
    • Uniformed Police Officers will assist traffic in the area
  • No parking on N Northlake Way in the work zone
    • “No Parking” signs will be placed 72 hours prior to start of work
  • Driveway access will be limited but accessible overnight
  • Sidewalks will not be impacted
