Detectives Investigating Friday Night University District Shooting

Detectives are investigating after two men were shot at a University District house party Friday night.

Witnesses began calling 911 just after 10 p.m. to report shots fired in the 5200 block of 20 Avenue Northeast.

Officers arriving at the scene found one person with a gunshot wound to the arm and provided them medical aid.  Seattle Fire Department Medics arrived a few minutes later and took the 24-year-old man to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

A second victim, a 22-year-old man, later arrived at Sweedish First Hill with a gunshot wound to the calf.

Officers interviewed the victims and witnesses who said they were at a party when a fight broke out. The witnesses went on to say they heard multiple gunshots and then saw two vehicles speeding away.

Gang Unit Detectives are now continuing to work with the victims and witnesses to develop a suspect description and descriptions of the two vehicles.  If you have any information in this case please call (206)625-5011 and request to speak with an officer.

Large Amounts of Meth, Heroin, Crack, Guns and Cash Seized in Narcotics Investigation

Investigators seized more than two kilos of heroin, more than a pound of methamphetamine and large amounts of cocaine in investigations into two groups of drug dealers in the north and west precincts who, detectives say, were making upwards of 200 deals a day.

In the first arrest, last Friday, investigators stopped a dealer in the parking lot of a Ballard auto parts store and found 129 grams of methamphetamine, 227 grams of cocaine, 39 grams of crack cocaine, 74 grams of heroin and 25 MDMA pills in his vehicle. Detectives then searched his apartment in the 600 block of Comstock Street and found 58 additional grams of cocaine, 156 grams of crack, 43 grams of methamphetamine, 49 grams of heroin and $19,000 cash.

The man was booked into the King County Jail.

Several days later, North and West Precinct Anti-Crime Teams arrested four people at a Magnolia Apartment, in the 4000 block of Gilman Avenue West.

At the scene, police found 2 1/4 kilos of heroin, 443 grams of methamphetamine, 61 grams of crack cocaine, two stolen handguns, and $111,000 in cash.

Three suspects arrested at the apartment were booked into jail, and one was taken to Harborview Medical Center after he injured himself jumping from a third-floor balcony in an attempt to flee from police.

Two Capitol Hill Condo Burglars Caught, Stolen TV Recovered

On Wednesday, August 15th, a victim called police to report a burglary at a condominium building located in the 1400 block of Boylston Avenue.  Two suspects, a man and a woman, entered a common area inside the building where they stole a large, 72″ wall mounted  flat screen television.  This burglary occurred at approximately 3:00 am, but wasn’t discovered until hours later.  An officer took the report and obtained video surveillance footage from the building.

The following day the victim observed the female suspect return to the building and called police.  Officers responded and arrested the 29-year-old female without incident.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF)  interviewed the suspect, and she was later booked into the King County Jail.  The 26-year-old male suspect was identified and detectives discovered that he was already in the Snohomish County Jail on unrelated warrants.  During that arrest, the suspect was armed with a handgun.

Today, a detective responded to the Snohomish County Jail where the suspect was interviewed.  He provided information as to the location of where the stolen television was stored.  The detective and Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies recovered the television and returned it to the victim.  The detectives will refer this case to the King County Prosecutor’s Office for charges.

Police Seek to ID Man Suspected of Sabotaging Share Bikes

Seattle police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of sabotaging brake lines on several bike-share bicycles in SODO.

Surveillance video shows the man walking up to several bikes parked at 4th Avenue and South Main Street around 11:45 PM on June 14th. He can be seen manipulating what appears to be a cutting tool around the bikes’ brakes before he walks out of frame.

Police also found surveillance photos from a month earlier, which appear to show the same man damaging a single bike’s brakes near 4th Avenue and Holgate. This incident also occurred in the late evening, around 11:15 PM.

Detectives are also investigating other similar cases in other parts of the city, but have not yet confirmed any linkage between the incidents.

If you recognize the man in the video or have any other information about this case, please contact South Precinct detectives at (206) 386-1855

Two Females Injured in Central District Drive By Shooting

Gang Unit detectives are investigating following a shooting that occurred late Wednesday afternoon that left two females with non life-threatening injuries.  The suspect fled the scene in a black car.

Shortly after 5:00 pm, officers responded to 22nd Avenue and East Pine Street for reports of shots fired.  The female victims told officers that they were driving in the 2100 block of East Pine when they pulled over to let another car that was travelling in the opposite direction pass.  As the vehicle passed, the  suspect driver fired several shots at the victim’s car, striking the two victims.  The victim’s vehicle then struck an unoccupied parked car, as the suspect drove off westbound and left the area.

The victims were transported to the hospital where they were treated for their injuries.  This remains an active and on-going investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Seattle Police Department.
