Outdoor Trek presents “Mirror, Mirror” in the park

Calling all Trekkies, Trekkers, earthlings and outdoor-theater lovers: Captain James T. Kirk and his crew will be landing in Dr. Blanche Lavizzo Park on Saturday, July 19, to perform “Mirror, Mirror,” a free play.

Hello Earth Productions will host six performances of “Mirror, Mirror” this summer at Dr. Blanche Lavizzo Park located at 2100 S Jackson St. (The amphitheater is at north end of park near Yesler and 22nd Avenue S).

The “Mirror, Mirror” Star Trek episode originally aired in 1967. A transporter error sends Kirk, Scotty, Uhura and McCoy to a parallel universe where the Enterprise is a ship of the Terran Empire, treachery rules and Spock has a beard!

Performances are at 7 p.m. on Saturdays and at 2 p.m. on Sundays. Dates include July 19, 20, 26 and 27 and Aug. 2 and 3. All shows are free. This year’s production was funded by the generous donations collected last year.

Feel free to bring a picnic, family, friends and comfortable cushions.
