Detectives Arrest Suspect Wanted in Connection to February South Park Homicide

On Saturday, July 7th, homicide detectives arrested a 27-year-old man in the South Park neighborhood for investigation of murder.  The suspect was arrested for the February 7th shooting that left the victim critically injured.  Days after the shooting the victim died from his injuries. Following his arrest, the suspect was interviewed by detectives and later booked into the King County Jail. This remains an active and on-going investigation.

Detectives Investigating South Park Shooting

Gang detectives are conducting an investigation following a shooting that occurred in South Park earlier this evening.  A 16-year-old male is at Harborview Medical Center after he was shot in the head.

At approximately 6:45 pm on Wednesday, February 7th,  911 began receiving calls of “shots fired” and a person down at 14th Avenue South and South Trenton Street.  Officers arrived quickly and called for the Seattle Fire Department after locating the victim.  Medics transported the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A K-9 team responded to the scene and began a search, but the track was unsuccessful.  Gang detectives responded and began their investigation by processing the scene and interviewing potential witnesses.
