Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding an early morning stabbing incident near 1st Avenue South and South Lander. The victim is currently at Harborview Medical Center receiving treatment for his injuries.
At approximately 5:45 am Wednesday a 35-year-old man boarded a Metro bus at 1st Avenue South/South Lander Street. The man walked to the back of the bus. A few minutes later he walked to the front of the bus and asked the driver if he had seen who had stabbed him. The coach operator told him that he did not see what happened. The victim got off the bus and the operator called 911. Officers arrived and located the victim. He had several stab wounds to his back. Seattle Fire Medics responded and transported the victim to HMC.
Officers did not locate a crime scene on the bus and it is unknown where the incident actually occurred. Detectives continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to contact Seattle Police.
