(Update) Second Suspect Arrested In Fatal New Holly Shooting

Update 8/19/15: Police took the suspected getaway driver in the shooting into custody Wednesday afternoon. Homicide and Gang Unit detectives arrested the 19-year-old man in downtown Seattle around 1PM and booked him into the King County Jail.

Detectives say they are not searching for any additional suspects in the case.


 

Seattle police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting in the New Holly neighborhood.

On July 31st, police responded to 44th Avenue S. and S. Cloverdale after receiving a report of a shooting. Officers found a seriously wounded 20-year-old man and called for medics, who pronounced the man dead at the scene.

On Wednesday, August 12th, police arrested the 20-year-old suspect in the case at 45th Ave S. and S. Kenyon St, just a half-mile from the scene of the shooting.

Detectives have booked him into the King County Jail and continue to investigate the case.

 

Man Killed In New Holly Shooting

Officers are investigating a homicide that occurred today in the New Holly neighborhood.

Witnesses began calling 911 just after 3 p.m. Friday saying that a man was shot at the intersection of 44 Ave. S. and S. Cloverdale St.  When officers arrived they found the adult male victim on the sidewalk and they immediately called for medics. Medics attempted life-saving measures, but the victim died at the scene.

Homicide detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, and the Gang Unit are canvassing the area for witnesses.  Officers have increased patrols in the area while this investigation is active.
