Witnesses called 911 around 9:30 Thursday night to report a man with a rifle and machete outside an apartment building in the 7500 block of 24 Avenue Southwest.
Officers quickly converged on the address and found a man standing in the stairwell of the building still holding the rifle and machete. SWAT team members as well as hostage negotiators responded to the scene and were able to start a dialogue with the 33-year-old man. After an hour of talking with the suspect, officers were able to convince the man to come down from the stairwell. SWAT officers took the suspect into custody and discovered the rifle was a BB-gun.
Officers booked the suspect into King County Jail for investigation of Harassment and Investigation of Assault.
Officers arrested two men Wednesday for a series of assaults that ended with one of them in the hospital.
Officers were called to the 11100 block of Luther Avenue South just after 1 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a man who had been tied up and assaulted. When officers arrived they found the 25-year-old man who had both his arms broken and a significant laceration to his back.
Seattle Fire Department Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
Officers began interviewing family members and determined that a 19-year-old woman who lived at the home had been dating the victim. The woman said she had been assaulted by the victim Tuesday night. The victim returned to the home this morning and there was a confrontation between the woman’s 25-year-old brother and the victim. The brother then assaulted the victim resulting in the injuries.
Domestic violence detectives are investigating and have arrested the brother for investigation of assault. Detectives are also working to charge the victim in this crime with domestic violence assault for the assault of the 19-year-old woman that occurred Tuesday night.
Detectives are investigating after a man was stabbed in the Capitol Hill neighborhood Tuesday morning.
An employee at a coffee shop called 911 Tuesday morning when a 26-year-old man walked into their shop in the 100 block of Broadway with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds. The manager provided first aid to the victim until police arrived and took over. Medics arrived soon after and rushed the victim to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses told officers they heard an argument between the victim and unidentified person in a nearby alley shortly before the stabbing occurred. The witnesses said they saw a man running from the alley and described him as 6 feet tall, approximately 175 pounds, wearing a blue baseball cap, and possibly of Hispanic or Indian descent.
Officers spoke with the victim who refused to cooperate with officers during the interview.

Officers arrested a man for kidnapping after he attempted to snatch a child from a First Hill apartment building.
A father called 911 just before 10 p.m. Saturday to report a man had just attempted to kidnap his child. The man told officers that the child had been playing in the breezeway of their apartment building in the 100 block of Boren Avenue when an unknown man walked up to the child, picked him up, and began to run away. The parent began yelling at the suspect who was approximately 125 feet away when the suspect dropped the child and continued to flee.
The father provided officers with a description of the suspect and within three minutes they were able to find the suspect and take him into custody.
Officers booked the suspect into King County Jail for investigation of kidnapping.
Homicide Detectives are investigating after a man was murdered in Pioneer Square Monday morning.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Yesler Way at 4:12 am Monday for a report of a stabbing. Officers found and immediately began CPR on the 47-year-old victim.
Seattle Fire Department Medics took the man to Harborview Medical Center where he later died.
Officers spoke with people in the area and determined the incident began as a disturbance between the two parties. Officers are working with possible witnesses to develop a suspect description at this time.
