Events Traffic Advisory for Tuesday, May 22 – Monday, May 28

SDOT is advising travelers to be aware of the following events happening around the city that may affect area traffic. Taylor Swift plays CenturyLink tonight at 7 p.m. The Northwest Folklife Festival runs Friday through Memorial Day. The Mariners play Friday through Monday at Safeco Field with day games on Sunday and Monday. City offices are closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28.

EVENTS 

TUESDAY, MAY 22:

Taylor Swift concert: At CenturyLink Field from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. About 55,000 people are expected to attend.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 23:

Unique Lives – Astronaut Captain Scott Kelly: Speaker series at McCaw Hall from 7:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. About 2,000 people are expected to attend.

FRIDAY, MAY 25:

Northwest Folklife Festival: At Seattle Center from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. About 50,000 people are expected each day.

Seattle Mariners vs. Minnesota Twins: At Safeco Field at 7:10 p.m. About 26,000 people are expected to attend.

SATURDAY, MAY 26:

Northwest Folklife Festival: At Seattle Center from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. About 50,000 people are expected each day.

Seattle Sounders vs. Real Salt Lake: At CenturyLink Field at 2 p.m. About 12,000 people are expected to attend.

Seattle Mariners vs. Minnesota Twins: At Safeco Field at 7:10 p.m. About 28,000 people are expected to attend.

SUNDAY, MAY 27:

Northwest Folklife Festival: At Seattle Center from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. About 50,000 people are expected each day.

Seattle Mariners vs. Minnesota Twins: At Safeco Field at 1:10 p.m. About 32,000 people are expected to attend.

MONDAY, MAY 28 (Memorial Day):

Northwest Folklife Festival: At Seattle Center from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. About 50,000 people are expected each day.

Bread of Life Mission 10th Annual Memorial Day Celebration: Annual event to honor U.S. Military veterans 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. will close S Main St between 1st Ave S and Alaskan Way S. About 700 people are expected to attend.

Seattle Mariners vs. Texas Rangers: At Safeco Field at 1:10 p.m. About 26,000 people are expected to attend.

CONSTRUCTION

May 22: South Lander Street

closed between 1st Ave S and 3rd Ave S through early 2020 for construction of a new bridge over the railroad tracks.
