Update: 6th Ave Closures between Stewart St and Seneca St the week of May 21


SDOT isĀ advising travelers of two overnight closures related to the 6th Ave Paving Project on Monday, May 21 and Tuesday, May 22. SDOT would like to thank the public for its patience while this work is being completed.

From 8 p.m. Monday, May 21 to 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 22 travelers can expect:

  • 6th Ave will be closed from Pine St to Seneca St while crews complete grinding between Pine St and University St
  • No access to parking garages and loading zones off 6th Ave from Pine St to University St
  • The University St intersection will be closed and the I-5 northbound onramp at University St will be closed

From 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 22 to 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 23 travelers can expect:

  • 6th Ave will be closed from Stewart St to Pike St while crews complete grinding
  • No access to parking garages and loading zones off 6th Ave from Stewart St to Pike St
  • The intersection at 6th Ave and Olive Way will be closed
  • The intersection at 6th Ave and Stewart St will be reduced to one lane
  • 6th Ave will be reduced to one lane between University St and Pine St, and all garages will have full access

From 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23 to 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 24 and from 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 24 to 6 a.m. on Friday, May 25 travelers can expect:

  • Various lane closures of 6th Ave from Stewart St to University St crews complete base repairs and remove asphalt
  • The middle lane of 6th Ave will be closed north of the Pike St intersection for communication installation work
  • All 6th Ave intersections will be open, and all garages will have full access to 6th Ave
  • Vehicles traveling on 6th Ave may experience delays
