Update: 6th Ave Closures for Paving Project to Begin Monday, May 14

SDOT isĀ advising travelers of upcoming closures related to the 6th Ave paving project during evening hours on Monday, May 14 through Friday, May 18. SDOT would like to thank the public for its patience while this work is being completed.

From 8 p.m. Monday, May 14, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, travelers can expect:

  • 6th Ave to be closed from James St to Yesler Way while crews complete grinding
  • No access to parking garages on 6th Ave from James St to Yesler Way during work hours
  • The intersection at 6th Ave and Jefferson St will be closed
  • Cherry St will be closed between 6th Ave and 7th Ave
  • The southbound I-5 offramp at James St will be reduced to one lane
  • The southbound I-5 onramp at 6th Ave and James St (Jefferson St) will be closed
  • The northbound I-5 onramp from Cherry St will only be accessible from 7th Ave and James St

From 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, travelers can expect:

  • Partial and lane closures of 6th Ave from Marion St to Yesler Way while crews complete base repairs

From 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16 to 6 a.m. on Thursday, May 17 AND from 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 17 to 6 a.m. on Friday, May 18, travelers can expect:

  • 6th Ave from Marion St to Yesler Way will be closed while crews complete paving
  • No access to parking garages and loading zones on 6th Ave from Marion St to Yesler Way during work hours
  • Intersection closures on 6th Ave at Jefferson St, Cherry St, Columbia St, and turning southbound on Marion St
  • The southbound I-5 onramp at 6th Ave and James St (Jefferson) will be closed
  • The southbound I-5 offramp at James St will be reduced to one lane
  • The northbound I-5 onramp from Cherry St will only be accessible from 7th Ave and James St as the intersection of 6th Ave and Cherry St will be closed
