Detectives are investigating after a woman was critically injured Tuesday afternoon in a collision Downtown.
Witnesses called 911 around 2 p.m. to report a woman had been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 1st Avenue and Pine Street. When police arrived they found a 57-year-old woman with a severe head injury, laying in the street. Officers contacted the 86-year-old driver who was taken into custody for investigation of vehicular assault.
Seattle Fire Department Medics transported the woman to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
Traffic collision detectives responded to the scene and collected evidence and witness statements. Detectives will now work with the Prosecutor’s Office as the case moves forward.
