Events Traffic Advisory for Wednesday, April 25 – Sunday, April 29

SDOT is advising travelers to be aware of the following events happening around the city that may affect area traffic. There are two separate Green Lake area events on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. WSDOT weekend I-5 closures postponed.

EVENTS

SATURDAY, APRIL 28:

Green Lake Food Walk: The community event to discover and experience businesses that support Green Lake. NE 72nd St will be closed between E. Green Lake Dr N and Woodlawn Ave NE. Event hours are 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. About 800 people are expected to attend.

Sumo + Sushi: Sumo wrestling event at WaMu Theater. Hours are 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. About 3,000 people are expected to attend.

SUNDAY, APRIL 29:

Top Pot Doughnut Dash: The 5K run and kids dash starts and finishes near the Green Lake Community Center and basketball courts. The 3.1-mile course utilizes the roads around Green Lake as well as a section of the inner trail. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. About 2,000 people are expected to attend.

Sumo + Sushi: Sumo wrestling event at WaMu Theater. Hours are 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. About 3,000 people are expected to attend.

CONSTRUCTION

April 23 – May 7: Two southbound lanes and adjacent sidewalk closed nightly on Boren Ave between Howell St and Olive Way during the installation of a vault.

April 29: 1st Ave will be closed in both directions between University St and Seneca St Crews for private construction crane work.

April 29: Westlake Ave N will be closed in both directions between Republican St and Mercer St for SPU water main work.
