Update: NW 95th Street and 8th Avenue NW intersection closed for emergency sewer repair work

SEATTLE— A contractor for Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) began an emergency sewer repair at the intersection of Northwest 95th Street and 8th Avenue Northwest on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018. As work has progressed, traffic impacts have changed. Currently, Northwest 95th Street is closed between Dibble Avenue Northwest and 7th Avenue Northwest. There is no access to 8th Avenue Northwest from Northwest 95th Street. Eighth Avenue Northwest is closed between Northwest 92nd Street and Northwest 100th Street. Traffic is detoured around the site. Local access is maintained, but street parking is restricted within the closure area.

Current working hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, however, the intersection must be closed 24/7 so crews can monitor and maintain the sewer bypass system. Work is expected to last until early April, but schedule may change depending on the extent of the damaged pipes.
