Share Your Thoughts on the Search for Seattle’s Next Police Chief: To help select a permanent Chief of Police to lead the Seattle Police Department, the City of Seattle is kicking off public outreach by launching an online Community Input Survey to allow Seattle residents to provide their input during the search process. Survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/seattlepolicechief.
Attend a Your Voice, Your Choice Project Development Meeting: Community volunteers are invited to review park and street improvement ideas submitted during Your Voice, Your Choice idea collection. Get involved by attending one or more of the project development meetings throughout the city. Participants will discuss the projects in small groups and then individually score ideas based on physical need and community benefit. Various times and locations (February 23 – March 28).
Attend a Fair Chance Housing Workshop: The Seattle Office for Civil Rights will be hosting this workshop where you can learn about the new ordinance which prevents landlords from unfairly denying applicants housing based on criminal history. February 26, 4pm at El Centro de la Raza.
Learn About the Seattle Promise: Mayor Durkan and the Seattle Department of Education and Early Learning will host a community event on February 26 to discuss and learn about the Mayor’s initiative to provide two years of free college tuition to Seattle Public Schools graduates and help build economic opportunity for everyone in Seattle. February 26, 5:30 – 6:30pm at Garfield High School.
Share Your Thoughts on the West Seattle and Ballard Light Rail Extensions: The West Seattle and Ballard Link Extensions are part of the regional ST3 package that voters approved in November 2016. These separate extensions will provide fast, reliable light rail connections to residential and job centers between West Seattle and Ballard. Sound Transit wants to hear your thoughts on their goals and plans! Share your feedback via their online open house 24/7. Survey closes on March 5.
