Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman died Saturday night following a suspected stabbing in the Rainier Beach Neighborhood.
Officers were dispatched to a female down in a parking lot in the 9400 block of Rainier Avenue South Saturday just after 11 p.m. Police arrived and found the 34-year-old female victim suffering from several suspected stab wounds.
Seattle Fire Medics responded to the scene to treat the victim. While Seattle Fire was treating the victim, the 34-year-old female suspect returned to the scene. Seattle Fire transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center where she later died.
The suspect claimed she was also injured during a disturbance with the victim, a known acquaintance, and was also transported to Harborview. After being released from HMC, the suspect was interviewed by Homicide detectives then released pending further investigation. Homicide detectives will be working in conjunction with the King County Prosecutor and Medical Examiner’s office to further this investigation.
