Temporary Closures at S King St and 10th Ave S Starting November 27

SDOT advises travelers of upcoming construction and traffic impacts at the S King St and 10th Ave S intersection beginning as soon as Monday, November 27, 2017. Neighbors should expect construction in the area through early 2018 as crews build new sidewalk corners, curb ramps, and repair the street. This work is weather-dependent and subject to change.

From 7 a.m. on November 27, 2017, through mid-December 2017, travelers can expect:

  • Northbound 10th Ave S will be closed at S King St
    • Northbound drivers should follow the signed detour left onto S King St and right onto to 8th Ave S to continue north
    • Northbound local access from north of the intersection to S Jackson St will be permitted for deliveries and access to businesses
    • Southbound 10th Ave S will remain open to traffic
  • Bicyclists should merge with traffic; pedestrians should follow signed detours through the intersection

From 7 a.m. on December 4, 2017, through mid-December 2017, travelers can expect:

  • S King St will be closed on the east side of the 10th Ave S intersection
    • Eastbound drivers on S King St will follow a detour right on 10th Ave S and left on S Weller St to continue east
    • Westbound S King St will be open for local access from 12th Ave S to Summit Sierra School and businesses at the 10th Ave S intersection
    • The left turn lane onto S King St from 12th Ave S will be closed; trucks delivering to the S King St and 10th Ave S intersection from the south or east should instead take a left on S Weller St or follow the signed detour right on S Jackson St, right on Rainier Ave S, right on S Weller St
  • Bicyclists should merge with traffic; pedestrians should follow signed detours through the intersection
