Safe Routes to School Project on S Cloverdale St begins November 20

SDOT advises travelers of upcoming construction on S Cloverdale St between Beacon Ave S and Martin Luther King Jr Way S beginning on Monday, November 20. This work is expected to continue through April 2018 as crews build new sidewalks on the north side of S Cloverdale St from Beacon Ave S to Martin Luther King Jr Way S as part of a Safe Routes to School project. This work is weather dependent.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays beginning Monday, November 20, through April 2018, travelers can expect:

  • Traffic on S Cloverdale St between Beacon Ave S and Martin Luther King Jr Way may be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic during construction hours
  • Flaggers will help maintain 2-way traffic
  • S Cloverdale St will be open to 2-way traffic from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (and on Wednesdays for early release from 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.) for bus access and student drop-off while Wing Luke Elementary and Van Asselt Elementary schools are in session
  • Temporary parking restrictions in the work zone with 72-hour notice

This work is part of the Wing Luke Elementary and Van Asselt Elementary Safe Routes to School Project and will build new sidewalks, curb ramps and planting strips, making it safer and easier for kids and families to walk and bike safely to school.
