SDOT advises travelers of traffic lane closures on Corson Ave S and S Michigan St for the Georgetown Arterial Paving Project from October 20 to November 3. This work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
From 7 p.m. on Friday, October 20 to Sunday, October 22, travelers can expect:
- Corson Ave S will be closed to northbound traffic between S Bailey and S Doris streets
- Eastbound travelers on S Michigan St wishing to continue northbound on Corson Ave S will be detoured via S Bailey St to 13th Ave S and Airport Way S to return to Corson Ave S
- Westbound travelers on S Bailey St wishing to continue northbound on Corson Ave S will be detoured via S Michigan St to 6th Ave S, S Lucile St and Airport Way S to return to Corson Ave S
- Southbound vehicle traffic will be maintained
From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, starting Monday, October 23 to Friday, November 3, travelers can expect:
- Westbound lanes of S Michigan St will be closed between Corson Ave S and 4th Ave S
- One lane of traffic in each direction will be open in the eastbound lanes
- Travelers on S Michigan St wishing to access 6th Ave S and 5th Ave S north of S Michigan St will be detoured via 4th Ave S to S Front St
For all roadways:
- Police officers or flaggers will assist with traffic when crews are working
- Detours will be posted
- Sidewalks will remain accessible, with occasional detours for people walking
- Emergency vehicles can access the work zone
- The work is expected to create construction-related noise, dust, vibration, and asphalt odor
