Detectives are investigating after a man was shot at and assaulted Friday night.
The 40-year-old victim was walking in the 1900 block of South Jackson Street at 10 p.m. when two men exited a red Dodge SUV and began chasing him. The two men were both holding handguns when one of them began firing shots at the victim. The suspects caught up to the victim and physically assaulted him before fleeing the scene.
Officers searched the area but were unable to find the vehicle or the suspects, who were only described as two black males. Officers did find multiple live 9mm rounds scattered in the area where the suspect said he had been chased.
Seattle Fire Department medics took the man to Harborview Medical Center where he was treated for a laceration to the head and a possible broken hand.
