SDOT advises travelers of upcoming traffic restrictions for the 3rd Ave Belltown Paving Project. This work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily on Thursday, October 5 and Friday, October 6, travelers can expect:
- Wall St will be reduced to a single westbound lane between 3rd and 4th avenues for paving.
From 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, October 6, travelers can expect:
- Southbound 3rd Ave traffic will be reduced to a single lane between Battery and Lenora streets.
- Northbound 3rd Ave traffic will be rerouted to 1st Ave at Lenora St and return to 3rd Ave at Battery St.
- King County Metro will reroute buses during this work. For information on changes to Metro routes, please visit http://kingcounty.gov/metro/alerts.
From 7 a.m. on Monday, October 9 through 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, travelers can expect:
- Wall St will be closed to traffic between 2nd and 3rd avenues. Local traffic can access the area but cannot cross 3rd Ave.
- Pedestrians will not be able to cross Wall St on the west side of the Wall St/3rd Ave intersection. Detour signs and flaggers will be posted to assist people walking.
- King County Metro will reroute buses during this work. For information on changes to Metro routes, please visit http://kingcounty.gov/metro/alerts.
For all roadways:
- Police officers or flaggers will assist with traffic when crews are working.
- Vehicles travelling on 3rd Ave may experience delays near the work zone.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained, though certain crosswalks may be temporarily inaccessible. Detour signs and flaggers will be posted to assist people walking.
- Emergency vehicles can access the work zone.
- The work is expected to create construction-related noise, dust, vibration, and concrete odor.
