Events Traffic Advisory for Tuesday, Sept. 26 – Sunday, Oct. 1

SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events in the city that may affect area traffic. The Sounders have a match at CenturyLink Field on Wednesday night. Janet Jackson is in concert at KeyArena also on Wednesday night. The Seahawks play at CenturyLink Field on Sunday evening. The Washington State Department of Transportation will reduce northbound I-5 to two lanes near I-405/SR 518 in Tukwila from Friday night to Monday morning.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27:

Seattle Sounders vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC at CenturyLink Field at 7:30 p.m. About 45,000 people are expected to attend.

Janet Jackson Concert at KeyArena at 8 p.m. About 12,000 people are expected to attend.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28:

Mass of the Holy Spirit – Seattle University: Procession starting 11:30 a.m. from 18th Ave and E Marion St, west on E Marion St to 12th Ave into the Seattle University Campus. About 300 people are expected to participate.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29:

Up Your Ave: Annual welcome event for new and returning UW students. NE 43rd St will be closed between Brooklyn Ave NE and University Way NE from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. About 900 people are expected to attend.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30:

Eagles and the Doobie Brothers Concert at Safeco Field at 7 p.m. About 45,000 people are expected to attend.

Gorillaz Concert at KeyArena at 8 p.m. About 12,000 people are expected to attend.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1:

GeekGirlCon at The Conference Center at the Washington State Convention Center. Convention hours are 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. About 6,000 people expected to attend.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1:

Seattle Seahawks vs. Indianapolis Colts at CenturyLink Field at 5:30 p.m. About 65,000 people are expected to attend.
