SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events happening in the city that may affect traffic. The Seattle Mariners play tonight through Sunday at Safeco Field. Fremont Oktoberfest runs Friday through Sunday. Coldplay will be in concert Saturday night at CenturyLink Field.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 24:
St. Demetrios Greek Festival at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Seattle’s Montlake neighborhood. Event hours are 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Up to 2,500 people a day are expected to attend.
Bite of Broadview at Christ the King Church. Events hours are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Up to 900 people a day are expected to attend.
Fremont Oktoberfest: Three-day fall festival on N Canal St and N 35th St between 1st Ave NW and Phinney Ave N. Event hours are 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, 12 p.m. to midnight Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Streets close at 8 a.m. on Thursday. Up to 9,000 people a day are expected to attend.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23:
End AIDS Walk: 31st Annual 5K Walk/Run at Volunteer Park in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. The walk/run starts and finishes at Volunteer Park, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The course uses streets around Volunteer Park and 12th Ave from E Prospect to E John Streets. About 1,500 people are expected to attend.
Coldplay concert at 7 p.m. at CenturyLink Field. About 45,000 people are expected to attend.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 24:
The Orca Half: Half marathon in West Seattle from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. starting at Lincoln Park and ending at Don Armeni Boat Launch. Course will use trails, sidewalks and the parking lane of 47th Ave SW and Lincoln Park Way SW. About 900 people are expected to participate.
