Events Traffic Advisory for Wednesday, Sept. 13 – Sunday, Sept. 17

SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events happening in the city that may affect area traffic. Seattle 2017 PARK(ing) Day is all day Friday with participants across the city. The UW Huskies play at Husky Stadium on Saturday night. The Seattle Seahawks play at CenturyLink Field on Sunday afternoon.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17:

Boats Afloat Show at Chandler’s Cove in South Lake Union. Show hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. About 2,000 people are expected to attend each day.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15:

Seattle 2017 PARK(ing) Day: Part of an international, annual event intended to encourage creative placemaking and raise awareness about the importance of walkable, livable, and healthy communities by giving people the opportunity to temporarily turn on-street parking spots into public spaces. Installations around the city from Georgetown and West Seattle to Lake City and Northgate from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. 50+ people expected to participate.

Susan G. Komen 3-Day: Opening ceremony at 7 a.m. at Seattle Center and walk starts at 7:30 a.m. through city streets. Walkers return Sunday to Seattle Center for a closing ceremony at 4:30 p.m. About 650 walkers are expected to participate.

Chris Rock: Total Blackout Tour at 8 p.m. at McCaw Hall. About 3,000 people are expected to attend.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16:

The Great Wallingford Wurst Festival: End of summer celebration on N 49th St between Densmore Ave and Wallingford Ave. Festival hours are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.  More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the 2-day festival.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16:

Rally for Disability Justice: March from the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) followed by a rally at the Federal Building. March starts at 10 a.m. on Pike St and 7th Ave, heads north on 7th Ave, east on Stewart St and returns to the WSCC on 8th Ave. About 400 people are expected to participate.

South Lake Union Saturday Market: Final market of the season on 9th Ave N between Denny Way and John St. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. About 1,000 people are expected to attend.

University of Washington Huskies vs. Fresno State, 6:30 p.m. at Husky Stadium. About 60,000 people are expected to attend. Go Huskies!

Jim Gaffigan: Noble Ape Tour at 8 p.m. at KeyArena. About 12,000 people are expected to attend.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17:

Seattle Fiestas Patrias: Festival at the South Park Community Center from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Parade starts at 11 a.m. from 12th Ave S and S Henderson St, heads north on 14th Ave S, west on S Cloverdale St, north on 8th Ave S and returns to the Community Center. On Sunday, the festival continues at Seattle Center from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. About 800 people are expected to attend.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 17:

Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers at 1:25 p.m. at CenturyLink Field. About 65,000 people are expected to attend. Go Hawks!
