Events Traffic Advisory for Wednesday, August 23 –  Sunday, August 27

SDOT is advising travelers to be aware of the following events happening in the city that may affect traffic. The Seahawks host their third pre-season game at CenturyLink Field on Friday night. The Sounders FC play at CenturyLink Field Sunday night. Bumbershoot staging begins Friday for several days in preparation for the festival September 1 through September 3.


KeyArena Event: Shuttle transport and staging in South Lake Union and streets surrounding Seattle Center between 5 a.m. and 2 p.m. About 3,000 people are expected to attend.


Bumbershoot Staging: Production vehicle staging for the festival on and around Seattle Center begins Friday at 5 a.m. and continues through Thursday, September 7th at 6:30 p.m.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Kansas City at 5 p.m. at CenturyLink Field. About 65,000 people are expected to attend. Go Hawks!


South Lake Union Saturday Market will close 9th Ave N between Denny Way and John St runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. About 1,000 people are expected to attend.

SODO Summer Session goes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Living Computers Museum and on Utah Ave S between S Stacy St and S Walker St. About 900 people are expected to attend.

TMBC Community Picnic will close 28th Ave S between S Jackson and S King Streets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. About 200 people are expected to attend.

Belltown Crush Block Party will close Bell St between 2nd and 4thavenues from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.  2nd, 3rd and 4th avenues remain open to vehicle traffic. About 400 people are expected to attend.

Hai, Japantown The Japantown neighborhood summer celebration happens at multiple venues in the International District, including an alley closure between 6th Ave S and Maynard Ave S. The festival runs from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. About 600 people are expected to attend.


Cosmo 7K  Run will close one lane of Alki Ave SW from 63rd Ave SW to Don Armeni Park between 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. About 1,200 people are expected to participate.

Celebrate Little Saigon The Banh Mi festival takes place on S King St between 10th Ave S and 12th Ave S runs between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. About 300 people are expected to atten

Seattle Sounders vs. Portland Timbers at 6:30 p.m. at CenturyLink Field. About 45,000 people are expected to attend. Go Sounders!
