SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events happening in the city that may affect traffic. Bicyclists in the Seattle to Portland Bike Ride leave the University District early Saturday morning. The Seattle Street Food Festival in South Lake Union is Saturday and Sunday. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close the westbound SR 520 bridge between Bellevue and Montlake Blvd Friday night to Monday morning.
FRIDAY, JULY 14 – SUNDAY, JULY 16:
West Seattle Summer Fest: Event will close California Ave SW in West Seattle. Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. About 5,000 to 12,000 people a day are expected to attend.
SATURDAY, JULY 15:
Seattle to Portland Bike Ride: Riders will leave University of Washington’s E-1 parking lot between 4:45 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. About 10,000 people are expected to participate.
Crown of Queen Anne Fun Run/Walk starts at 8 a.m. at 8th Ave W and W McGraw St and finishes in front of Coe School on 7th Ave W and W Wheeler St. About 810 people are expected to participate.
Seafair Milk Carton Derby at Green Lake from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. About 5,400 people are expected to attend.
Refuse to Abuse 5K Fun Run/Walk at Safeco Field from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. About 2,200 people are expected to participate.
Extraordinary Playscapes: Family Fun Day: Post Alley between Spring St and Madison St will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. About 200 people are expected to attend.
SATURDAY, JULY 15 – SUNDAY, JULY 16:
DragonFest: Event in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District will close S King St between 5th Ave S and 7th Ave S. Festival hours are 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. About 7,600 people a day are expected to attend.
Seattle Street Food Festival on 9th Ave N between Thomas St and Mercer St. Festival hours are 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. About 15,000 people a day are expected to attend.
Bon Odori Festival: An official Seafair event held at the Seattle Betsuin Buddhist Temple in Seattle’s Central District that closes S Main St between 14th Ave S and 16th Ave S. Festival hours are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. About 3,000 people a day are expected to attend.
SUNDAY, JULY 16:
Swedish SummeRun & Walk: Fundraiser for ovarian cancer research on streets on First Hill and Capitol Hill neighborhoods from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. About 2,800 people are expected to participate.
