Events Traffic Advisory for Tuesday, June 13 – Sunday, June 18

SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events happening in the city that may affect traffic. The UW Bothell Commencement is this afternoon at Safeco Field. The Vans Warped Tour is on Friday at the CenturyLink Field North Lot. The Fremont Solstice Parade is Saturday afternoon with the Fremont Solstice Fair on Saturday and Sunday. The Rock n’ Roll Expo is Friday and Saturday at CenturyLink Field Events Center. The Rock n’ Roll Marathon is Sunday and will close part of northbound SR-99 (between SODO and just south of the Aurora Bridge).

TUESDAY, JUNE 13:

University of Washington Bothell Commencement at Safeco Field at 4 p.m. About 15,000 people are expected to attend.

FRIDAY, JUNE 16:

Vans Warped Tour at CenturyLink Field North Lot from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. About 15,000 people are expected to attend.

Seattle Colleges Commencement at Safeco Field at 6 p.m. About 6,000 people are expected to attend.

FRIDAY, JUNE 16 – SATURDAY, JUNE 17:

Rock n’ Roll Expo at CenturyLink Field Events Center. Friday hours from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. About 25,000 people are expected to attend.

SATURDAY, JUNE 17:

South Lake Union Saturday Market: 9th Ave N will be closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the street market.  About 1,000 people are expected to attend.

Fremont Solstice Parade: Starts at 1 p.m. at NW Leary Way and NW 36th St, travels east on NW 36th St, south of Fremont Ave N, east on N 34th St and N Northlake Way to Gasworks Park. About 22,000 people are expected to attend.

Fremont Solstice Celebration: In Gasworks Park from 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. About 2,100 people are expected to attend.

City University Commencement at KeyArena at 1 p.m. About 10,000 people are expected to attend.

SATURDAY, JUNE 17 – SUNDAY, JUNE 18:

Fremont Solstice Fair: N 34th St and N 35th St will be closed between 1st Ave NW and Fremont Ave N from 6 p.m. on Friday through midnight on Sunday. Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. About 30,000 people are expected over the weekend.

SUNDAY, JUNE 18:

Rock n’ Roll Half and Full Marathon: Starts near UW Husky Stadium at 6:30 a.m. The course continues south on Lake Washington Boulevard, west on Genesee St, north on Rainier Ave S, west on S Dearborn St, south on 4th Ave S, west on S Royal Brougham Way to CenturyLink Field on S Occidental Ave S. The full marathon continues in the northbound lanes of SR99 between S Massachusetts St and 6th Ave N and ends at CenturyLink Field. Streets will be reopened as runners proceed through the course, all streets will be reopened by 3 p.m. About 18,000 people are expected to participate.
