Events Traffic Advisory for Tuesday, May 2 – Monday, May 7

SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events happening in the city that may affect traffic. The Chris Tomlin concert is on Thursday night at KeyArena. The Mobile Food Truck Rodeo in Fremont happens Sunday. The Seattle Sounders play at CenturyLink Field on Sunday afternoon. The Seattle Mariners play Tuesday through Sunday at Safeco Field.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 3:

5th Avenue Theater Student Matinee: Bus staging on 7th Ave between Union and Pike streets and on 9th Ave between Pike and Pine streets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  About 2,000 students are expected to attend.

THURSDAY, MAY 4:

Chris Tomlin Concert: At KeyArena at 7 p.m. About 8,000 people are expected to attend.

FRIDAY, May 5:

Cinco de Mayo at Taco Guaymas: 2nd Ave NE will be closed between Woodland Ave and E Green Lake Way from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. for the annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration. About 1,000 people are expected to attend.

PJ Harvey Concert: At WaMu Theater at 8:30 PM. About 7,000 people are expected to attend.

SATURDAY, MAY 6:

March of Dimes March for BabiesWalk starts at 9 a.m. from Seattle Center, turns east on Mercer St, south on 5th Ave N, south on 4th Ave and U-turns at University St, returning to Seattle Center. About 4,000 people are expected to participate.

Opening Day of Boating Season:  Crew races and a boat parade on the Montlake Cut from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Montlake Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic between the hours of 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. About 4,700 people are expected to attend.

South Lake Union Saturday Market: 9th Ave between Denny Way and John St will be closed between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. for the opening day of the market. About 1,000 people are expected to attend.

Art Rising: John St will be closed between Westlake Ave N and Dexter Ave N for a street festival and urban craft market between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. About 4,500 people are expected to attend.

Fiesta 5K Ole! and Taco Truck Challange: Race starts in Volunteer Park at 9:30 a.m. and turns east on E Prospect St, north on 15th Ave E, west on Howe St, south on Federal Ave E, south on 12th Ave E, and U-turns at E John St to return to the park for the festival. Streets will be closed between 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. About 6,600 people are expected to attend.

Cannabis Freedom March: Rally in Westlake Park at 10 a.m. March starts at 2 p.m. on 4th Ave, heads east on Virginia St, south on 7th Ave and west on Pine St. About 425 people are expected to attend.

Bliss: Transcendence ConcertAt WaMu Theater at 6:30 p.m. About 7,200 people are expected to attend.

SUNDAY, MAY 7:

Ballard Locks Centennial 5K:  Run/Walk starts at 9:30 a.m. on NW 54th at 30th Ave NW, turns north on Seaview Ave NW and returns to the Hiram Chittenden Locks. Seaview Ave NW will be closed between 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. About 1,250 people are expected to participate.

Mobile Food Rodeo – Taco Libre Showdown: Food truck festival in Fremont. N Canal Street will be closed between Phinney Ave N and 1st Ave NW between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. About 10,000 people are expected to attend.

Immortal Regiment Rally: At Occidental Park with a march starting at 1:30 p.m. Route leaves park on 2nd Ave S, heads east on Jefferson St, north on 4th Ave, west on Union St, and south on 2nd Ave, returning to the park. About 1,000 people are expected to attend.

Seattle Sounders at Centurylink Field:

Saturday, May 6: Sounders vs. Toronto, 12 p.m. About 45,000 people are expected to attend.

Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field:

Tuesday, May 2: Mariners vs. Los Angeles, 7:10 p.m. About 18,000 people are expected to attend.

Wednesday, May 3: Mariners vs. Los Angeles, 7:10 p.m. About 18,000 people are expected to attend.

Thursday, May 4: Mariners vs. Los Angeles, 7:10 p.m. About 20,000 people are expected to attend.

Friday, May 5: Mariners vs. Texas, 7:10 p.m. About 39,000 people are expected to attend.

Saturday, May 6: Mariners vs. Texas, 6:10 p.m. About 42,000 people are expected to attend.

Sunday, May 7: Mariners vs. Texas, 1:10 p.m. About 38,000 people are expected to attend.
