SDOT advises travelers of a turn restriction detour at the intersection of 23rd Ave and E Union St on the evening of Monday, April 24. This detour will allow crews from the 23rd Avenue Corridor Improvements Project to repair concrete in the intersection. Local access will be provided to residences and businesses. This work is weather dependent and subject to change.
From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday, April 24, travelers can expect the following:
- The intersection of 23rd Ave E and E Union St will be open to traffic in all directions, however, left turns from westbound E Union St to southbound 23rd Ave will be restricted.
- Drivers intending to turn south on 23rd from westbound E Union St will continue west on E Union St to 14th Ave, and can return to 23rd Ave using E Cherry St.
- Police officers will be on site to assist with traffic control during this work.
- Pedestrian crossings will be maintained and clearly marked.
SDOT would like to thank the public for its patience while this work is completed. For more information on this project go to: http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/23rd_Ave.htm.
