SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events happening around the city that may affect area traffic. A march through downtown Seattle on Friday afternoon may impact traffic. The Seattle Home Show starts on Saturday at CenturyLink Field Event Center.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17:
Pike Place Market Unity in Support for the General Strike: Rally from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Pine Street between Pike Place and 1st Avenue. About 360 people are expected to participate.
Solidarity Rally for Education Justice: Rally at Volunteer Park at 11 a.m. followed by a march at 1 p.m. that heads south on 12th Ave E, west on Denny Way, south on Broad St to Myrtle Edwards Park. At least 1,000 people are expected to participate.
General Strike: Nationwide call for local organizations to strike and demonstrate. Events, locations, times and attendance are undisclosed. Please expect possible delays throughout the city.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18:
Harlem Globetrotters at KeyArena. Shows at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. About 8,000 people expected to attend each show.
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 18 – SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19:
Seattle Home Show at CenturyLink Field Event Center. This event runs through Sunday, February 26. Show hours are 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. About 100,000 people are expected to attend over the show.
