SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events happening around the city that may affect area traffic. The Seattle Boat Show begins Friday at CenturyLink Field Events Center. Mariners Fanfest is Saturday at Safeco Field. The Lunar New Year celebration happens in the Chinatown-International District on Saturday and Sunday.

Seattle Boat Show: The west coast’s largest boat show at CenturyLink Field Events Center and Chandlers Cove in South Lake Union. Hours vary. This event runs through Saturday, February 4. About 50,000 people are expected to attend through the weekend.

2017 Mariners FanFest: Fans can run the bases, play catch, and get autographs at Safeco Field. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. About 10,000 people are expected each day.

Wing Luke Museum Lunar New Year Lion Dance: Celebrate the Year of the Rooster at the Wing Luke Museum at 719 S King St from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. S King St will close between 7th Ave S and 8th Ave S from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. About 500 people are expected to attend.
SUNDAY, JANUARY, 29:
Lunar New Year Celebration: An annual celebration of Asian cultures with traditional performances, food, a craft fair and kids’ activities. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Hing Hay Park and surrounding streets. S King St will close between 6th and 7th Aves S, and Maynard Ave S will close between S Jackson and S Weller Streets from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. About 5,000 people are expected to attend.
