Work on Raye St and 6th Ave N to Restrict Access to Queen Anne from Aurora Ave N Jan. 21-22

SDOT advises travelers that crews will be doing safety tree removal and hazard mitigation work on Raye St and 6th Ave N this weekend, January 21-22, which will affect travelers’ access to Queen Anne from Aurora Avenue North.

On Saturday, January 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., travelers can expect the following:

  • 6th Ave N between Raye St and Halladay St will be closed. There will be no Queen Anne access from northbound Aurora Ave N at Halladay St. 
  • Detour: northbound Aurora Ave traffic will detour to Bridge Way N, U-turn to southbound Aurora Ave N, and exit Raye St.
  • Traffic leaving Queen Anne wishing to go north on Aurora Ave N will detour to southbound Aurora Ave N via Raye St, exit at Dexter Way N to 6th Ave N/Halladay St, then onto northbound Aurora Ave N.
  • Detour signs will be in place on northbound Aurora Ave N stating “No Queen Anne Access, Use Detour”
  • Police officers will be at Aurora Ave N and Halladay St, and at Dexter Way N and Dexter Ave N to assist with traffic control.

On Sunday, January 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., travelers can expect the following:

  • Raye St from 4th Ave N to Aurora Ave N will be closed. There will be no Queen Anne access to southbound Aurora Ave N at Raye St. 
  • Detour: southbound traffic from Aurora Ave N will be detoured to exit at Dexter Way N, to Dexter Ave N and head north on 6th Ave N to access Queen Anne.
  • Traffic leaving Queen Anne wishing to head south on Aurora Ave N will detour to 6th Ave N to Halladay St, onto northbound Aurora Ave N, and U-turn at Bridge Way N to head southbound on Aurora Ave N.
  • Detour signs will be posted on southbound Aurora Ave N stating “Raye St Exit Closed, Use Dexter Way”
  • Police officers will be at Raye St and 4th Ave N, and Dexter way N at Dexter Ave N to assist with traffic control.
