When I started with Seattle Police Department in June 2014, we were in the early stages of implementing a federal consent decree. Thanks to the incredibly hard work of our department, we have emerged as a leader in reform and constitutional policing. This progress report outlines SPD’s work over the past two years. The highlights in this report are a testament to the men and women of the Seattle Police Department and speak to the foundation we are building as we move forward.
Our efforts would be futile without you, the community we proudly serve. Community partnerships are critical to the success of the department and our city as a whole, and I thank you on behalf of the members of SPD for your constant support.
