Events Traffic Advisory for Wednesday, Oct. 12 to Sunday, Oct. 16

SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events happening around the city this week that will affect area traffic. The Seattle Sounders FC play tonight at CenturyLink Field. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton visits downtown Seattle on Friday afternoon. The Seahawks play the Atlanta Falcons at CenturyLink Field on Sunday afternoon.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12:

Seattle Sounders vs. Houston Dynamo at 7:30 p.m. at CenturyLink Field. About 40,000 people are expected to attend.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13:

Pike People Street – Art Walk: Second of three pilot programs to create a continuous pedestrian plaza by partially closing E Pike St and 11th Ave while still providing a flow of vehicle access and room for activities from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13 – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14: 

Weyerhaeuser Grand Opening: An employee celebration of their new Pioneer Square Headquarters. Occidental Ave S between S Main St and S Washington St will be closed to the public from 9 a.m. Thursday until 11 p.m. Friday. About 770 people are expected to attend.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14:

Hillary Clinton Visit: With special guest speakers Macklemore & Ryan Lewis at the Paramount Theater from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. 9th Ave between Pike St and Pine Street will be closed to traffic.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15:

Puget Sound Heart and Stroke Walk: The American Heart Association fundraising event with a 5K route and 1 Mile Survivor Route. The 5K begins at 9 a.m. from Seattle Center, heads east on Mercer St, south on 5th Ave N to Cedar, south on 4th Ave to University St and turns around back to Seattle Center. About 6,000 people are expected to participate.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16:

Pike People Street – Daytime: Last of three pilot programs will close E Pike St between 10th Ave and 11th Ave to extend the pedestrian area across E Pike St to allow for public space activity from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons: Kick-off at 1:25 p.m. at CenturyLink Field. About 65,000 people are expected to attend.
