SDOT is advising travelers of an upcoming weekday side street closure and weekend partial intersection closure as part of the Meridian Avenue N Paving and Safety Improvements Project. This work is weather-dependent and subject to change and rescheduling for a later date.
From 7 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6 to 5 p.m. on Friday, September 9, travelers can expect the following:
- North 107th Street will be closed on the east side of Meridian Avenue N to traffic.
o People driving can access I-5 from North Northgate Way.
o People driving can access businesses and residences from North 106th Street.
From 7 p.m. on Friday, September 9 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, travelers can expect the following:
- Meridian Avenue N will be closed to southbound traffic between North Northgate Way and North 112th Street, but local access to businesses and residences near the intersection will be maintained.
o For southbound Meridian Avenue N traffic, drivers will follow a detour via North 115th Street to Aurora Avenue N, with a left on North Northgate Way to return to Meridian Avenue N.
o Meridian Avenue N will be open to southbound traffic only for local access from North 115th Street to North Northgate Way.
o Uniformed police officers and flaggers will assist with directing traffic.
- King County Metro routes 316, 345 and 346 will be affected by this work, including bus stops in the area. For information about bus service and Rider Alerts, visit Metro Online at http://metro.kingcounty.gov/alerts/ or call 206-553-3000.
