Events Traffic Advisory for Tuesday, August 23 – Sunday, August 28

SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events happening around the city this week that will affect area traffic. The Mariners play at Safeco Field tonight and have a Wednesday afternoon game at 12:40 p.m. Gwen Stefani is in concert at KeyArena on Wednesday night. The Seahawks play Dallas at CenturyLink Field on Thursday night. The second Seattle Summer Parkways event is in Ballard on Saturday.


Tuesday, August 23, Mariners vs. Yankees, 7:10 p.m. About 34,000 people are expected to attend.

Wednesday, August 24, Mariners vs. Yankees, 12:40 p.m. About 38,000 people are expected to attend. The southbound SR99 off-ramp to S Atlantic St will be closed for approximately one hour following the Mariners’ afternoon game.


Gwen Stefani Concert: “This is What the Truth Feels Like” tour featuring Eve at 7 p.m. at KeyArena. About 9,000 people are expected to attend.


Seattle Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys, 7 p.m. at CenturyLink Field. About 65,000 people expected to attend.


Seattle Summer Parkways – Ballard: Summer Parkways invites you to explore the streets of Ballard with fun activities including music, activities and food booths on car free streets. Streets are closed from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Parkways route starts at 22nd Ave NW and Ballard Commons Park. The route heads south on 22nd Ave NW, Ballard Ave NW, east on NW Dock Pl, north on 17th Ave NW, east on NW 70th St, north on 20th Ave NW, west on NW 77th to Sunset Hill Park. In coordination with Sustainable Ballard Festival. About 3,150 people are expected to attend.

Sustainable Ballard Festival: At Ballard Commons Park at 22nd NW and NW 57th St. Event will close NW 57th St, NW 58th St, and 22nd Ave NW adjacent to the Park from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Event hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In coordination with Seattle Summer Parkways – Ballard. About 4,100 people are expected to attend.

Seattle Marathon 10K Race: The run/walk starts at 8 a.m. at Gasworks Park, continues on N Northlake Way to the Burke Gilman Trail through Fremont to Leary Way turning at 3rd Ave NW. The race returns on Canal St to 34th on to N Pacific Street then the Burke Gilman Trail turning around under the Ship Canal Bridge to end at Gas Works Park. Streets will be impacted between 6:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.  About 1,800 people are expected to participate.


Alki Beach 5K: Run starts at 9 a.m. at the Alki Bathhouse on Alki Ave SW near 63rd Ave SW, goes east along Alki Beach Park to Anchor Park, and back. About 1,100 people expected to participate.

Celebrate Little Saigon: The 6th annual celebration of Vietnamese American culture will close S King St between 10th Ave S and 12th Ave S from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Event hours are 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. About 330 people expected to attend.

Belltown Crush Block Party: Summer wine and beer festival from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bell Street Park. Event will close Bell St between 4th and 2nd avenues from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. About 450 people are expected to attend.
