Seattle Fire Department Participates in National “We Remember Night”

In support of families of firefighters and first responders who have taken their own lives, the Seattle Fire Department will participate in the national “We Remember Night” on May 20, 2016. Seattle Fire Department companies not engaged in an emergency response will join other departments around the country in turning on their vehicle’s emergency lights for one minute at 9 p.m.

“We Remember Night,” was started by the Firefighters Behavioral Health Alliance, to express support for all of the families that have suffered a loss. Learn more about “We Remember Night” at

WHAT:            Seattle Fire Department participation in “We Remember Night.”

WHO:              Seattle Fire Department Chaplain Joel Ingebritson and Lieutenant Sue Stangl will be available to speak about the department’s effort to raise awareness about firefighter suicide.

WHEN:            Friday, May 20, 2016 – interviews at 8:45 p.m., followed by Station 10 apparatuses participation in “We Remember Night” at 9 p.m.
