SDOT will install permanent roadway striping on Renton Avenue South between South Holden Street and 51st Avenue South as early as Tuesday, April 26, as part of the Renton Avenue South Repaving Project.
In order to complete this work, parking will not be allowed on Renton Avenue South between South Holden Street and 51st Avenue South for up to three days. This work will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and flaggers will be in place to direct and maintain two-way traffic.
As the work moves through the intersection at Renton Avenue South and South Henderson Street, a uniformed police officer will be in place to direct traffic and maintain all turning movements.
The Renton Avenue South Repaving Project will improve safety for all users of Renton Avenue South, a minor arterial street serving approximately 8,800 southeast Seattle commuters, transit users and commercial vehicles daily. The project installed 65 new curb ramps in 13 locations and nine new curb bulbs between South Holden Street and 51st Avenue South during the fall of 2015. Also in fall 2015, SDOT repaved the road from South Holden Street to South Trenton Street. Repaving from South Holden Street to South Roxbury Street was completed in early April 2016.
