Looking for love? Meet your match at the Seattle Animal Shelter

Valentine’s Day is almost here, and the Seattle Animal Shelter is celebrating with a special “Meet Your Match” adoption promotion. From Feb. 9-14, adopters will pay only applicable pet license fees (a savings of up to $210). Adopters will also receive a special goody bag to celebrate their new love.

To ensure excellent matches between adopters and pets, the Seattle Animal Shelter uses a screening process, which can be found at http://www.seattle.gov/animal-shelter/adopt.

On Saturday, Feb. 13, the shelter will also host an open house, featuring sweet treats for humans and pets, a fun matchmaking questionnaire and plenty of adorable animals. Volunteers will be on hand to help guests find their perfect match and a photo booth will be available for fun Valentine’s themed pictures. The Seattle Animal Shelter mascot will be available for photos, hugs and high fives.

Not ready to adopt? You can still join the fun and support the animals! All community members are encouraged to join the festivities. To show some extra love, you can purchase or renew your pet license, or drop off a donation. Licensing and donations directly support the shelter’s lifesaving programs, which include foster care, humane law enforcement and a low-cost spay and neuter clinic.

Celebrate love at the Seattle Animal Shelter, which is open Tuesday-Sunday, noon to 6 p.m., and located at 2061 15th Ave. W., Seattle. For more information, visit www.seattleanimalshelter.org.
