Repair work on University Bridge Tower begins week of November 2

Northbound vehicle and bike lane restrictions in place

Beginning the week of November 2, northbound drivers and bike riders on the University Bridge should prepare for short-term lane restrictions. Crews working for the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will repair a leaking roof on the southeast tower of the University Bridge and replace a water line that runs underneath the bridge. One northbound travel lane on the bridge will be closed during daytime non-peak commute hours, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The northbound bike lane will also be closed during construction; bicyclists will be detoured to the east walkway through the construction area. Pedestrian access on the east walkway will be maintained.

SDOT would like to thank the community for its patience while this work is being completed. Construction is expected to last approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
