SDOT is advising travelers to be aware of several events happening around the city through the weekend that will affect area traffic. The People’s Climate March starting at City Hall is Wednesday afternoon. The Puget Sound Heart and Stroke Walk is Saturday morning. The UW Huskies play Saturday night at Husky Stadium. The annual Dawg Dash is Sunday morning in around the UW campus. The Seahawks return home to play at CenturyLink Field on Sunday afternoon.
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14:
PEOPLE’S CLIMATE MARCH 2015: A march against climate change will gather at City Hall at 5 p.m. and march to Occidental Park at 5:30 p.m. The march heads northbound on 4th Ave, west on Madison St, south on 1st Ave S, and then east on S Washington into the park. About 950 people are expected to participate.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17:
PUGET SOUND HEART AND STROKE WALK: The American Heart Association’s annual fundraising walk to raise awareness of cardiovascular diseases and strokes with a 5K route and 1 Mile Survivor Route. The 5K Walk begins at 9 a.m. from the Seattle Center heading east on Mercer St, south on 5th Ave N to Cedar St, south on 4th Ave to University St where the route turns back to the Seattle Center. About 6,000 people are expected to participate.
UW HUSKIES FOOTBALL AT HUSKY STADIUM: UW Huskies vs. Oregon at 7:30 p.m. About 70,000 people are expected to attend.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18:
DAWG DASH: This is the 30th anniversary of the University of Washington’s Alumni Association benefit run for student scholarships. The 5K and 10K start on campus at 9 a.m. with the 10K route heading from the campus northbound on 17th Ave NE to Ravenna Blvd, north on 15th Ave NE, east on NE 62nd St, through Ravenna Park onto Ravenna Place and NE Blakeley St. The run returns to campus on the Burk Gilman Trail to 15th Ave NE. About 2,700 people are expected to participate.
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS AT CENTURYLINK FIELD: Seahawks vs. Carolina Panthers at 1:05 p.m. About 60,000 people are expected to attend.
