Events Advisory for Wednesday, Sept. 30 – Sunday, Oct. 4

SDOT is advising travelers to be aware of several events happening around the city through the weekend that will affect area traffic. The Up Your Ave festival is Friday afternoon in the University District. The Great Pumpkin Beer Fest runs Friday and Saturday in Georgetown. Sounders FC play at CenturyLink Field on Sunday. The Mariners play their season series finale through the weekend at Safeco Field. The Macefield Music Festival runs throughout the weekend in Ballard.

MARINERS AT SAFECO FIELD:

  • Seattle Mariners vs. Houston, Wednesday, Sept. 30, 7:10 p.m. About 18,000 people are expected to attend.
  • Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland, Friday, Oct. 2, 7:10 p.m. About 28,000 people are expected to attend.
  • Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland, Saturday, Oct. 3, 6:10 p.m. About 26,000 people are expected to attend.
  • Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland, Sunday, Oct. 4, 12:10 p.m. About 28,000 people are expected to attend.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2:

UP YOUR AVE: Local vendors, businesses and organizations welcome back UW students and promote the University District.  Festival takes place on Northeast 43rd Street west of University Way Northeast from 3 p.m.to 6:30 p.m. About 1,200 people are expected to attend.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2 & 3:

GREAT PUMPKIN BEER FEST: The 11th Annual celebration of the Great Pumpkin at Elysian Brewery in Georgetown features seasonal pumpkin beers, pumpkin carving and food trucks.  The festival runs Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.  About 2,700 people are expected to attend. Traffic on Airport Way South may be heavier than usual.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3-SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4:

MACEFIELD MUSIC FESTIVAL: Music in venues throughout historic Ballard with the Macefield Market and Beer Garden at 3p.m. Saturday through 2 a.m. Sunday. 20th Avenue Northwest will be closed from Ballard Avenue Northwest to Shilshole Avenue Northwest between 7 a.m. Saturday until Sunday at 4:00 a.m. About 1,000 people are expected to attend.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3: 

WING LUKE MUSEUM’S BRUCE LEE EXHIBIT OPENING: For the second year, the museum focuses on the media career of iconic actor/martial artist Bruce Lee. Presentations, martial arts demonstrations and film stunts will take place on South King Street. South King Street will be closed between Seventh and Eighth avenues South from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.  About 400 people are expected to attend.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4: 

SOUNDERS AT CENTURYLINK FIELD:

Sounders FC vs. LA Galaxy, Sunday, October 4, at 6:40 p.m. About 55,000 people are expected to attend.
