Seattle Parks and Recreation superintendent to visit International District/Chinatown

Seattle Parks and Recreation Superintendent Jesús Aguirre will host a series of community meetings throughout the summer and fall to share his vision for the future of the department and to learn more about the unique needs of each of the city’s diverse neighborhoods.

Superintendent Aguirre will give a brief presentation on the department’s goals moving forward and will lead a discussion with community members to learn more about what’s important to them with regards to recreation and public spaces.

The superintendent will host a meeting at International District/Chinatown Community Center from 7 – 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1 (719 8th Ave S, 98104). All are welcome to attend.

Open Houses
The superintendent will also host two large open houses – one south of the Ship Canal, and one north of the Ship Canal. These will be great opportunities for the community to meet and talk with Jesús personally, as well as to learn all about the great stuff Seattle Parks and Recreation does.

These Open Houses will feature staff from all over the department to share their work — from the employees who buy and build new parks to those who organize summer camps to our Park Rangers. We’ll also have free children’s activities, and food.
