Drivers who use the Interstate 5 Ship Canal Bridge should prepare for possible delays in the express lanes today, Aug. 3, through Thursday, Aug. 6, and the mainline this weekend, Aug. 8-9.
Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close one lane of the express lanes or mainline each day to inspect the Ship Canal Bridge. WSDOT inspects this bridge every other year as part of its bridge inspection program. This inspection is a continuation of work that began July 25-26.
- Monday, Aug. 3, to Thursday, Aug. 6 – One lane of the I-5 express lanes at the Ship Canal Bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
- Saturday, Aug. 8 – The right lane of northbound I-5 at the Ship Canal Bridge will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Sunday, Aug. 9 – The right lane of southbound I-5 at the Ship Canal Bridge will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
