Mercer Corridor lane restrictions on July 31 and Aug 1

The Seattle Department of Transportation advises travelers of the following work within the corridor:

Lane restrictions on Mercer Street and Fifth Avenue North

Beginning Friday, July 31 at 8 p.m. and continuing Saturday, Aug. 1 through 1 p.m., crews will close multiple lanes near the intersection of Mercer Street and Fifth Avenue North to accommodate the completion of storm drain facilities and the removal of overhead wires. Travelers can expect the following impacts:

  • Eastbound Mercer Street will be reduced to one lane between Fifth Avenue North and Taylor Avenue North.
  • Westbound Mercer Street will be reduced to one lane between Taylor Avenue North and Fifth Avenue North.
  • There will be single lane restrictions on Fifth Avenue North between John and Roy streets.
  • All turning motions at the intersection of Mercer Street and Fifth Avenue North will remain open.

Please plan ahead, expect traffic delays, and use alternate routes when possible.

Lane restrictions on Queen Anne Avenue North and Roy Street

Crews will complete similar work at the intersection of Queen Anne Avenue North and Roy Street. Travelers can expect the following on Saturday, Aug.1 between 9 a.m. and noon:

  • Lane restrictions on Roy Street between First Avenue North and Queen Anne Avenue North.
  • Lane restrictions on Queen Anne Avenue North between Valley and Mercer streets.
  • All turning motions at the intersection of Queen Anne Avenue North and Roy Street will remain open.
