The Seattle Department of Transportation advises travelers of road closures at the intersection of Third Avenue Northwest, Northwest 56th Street and Northwest 55th Place as crews continue constructing pedestrian safety improvements as part of the West Woodland Pedestrian Safety Improvements Project, part of SDOT’s Neighborhood Street Fund Program. Work began on June 15th and is anticipated to finish by mid-August.
Starting as soon as July 6th, the east and west sides of the intersection of Northwest 56th Street, Northwest 55th Place and Third Avenue Northwest will be closed to traffic. This closure will be in place 24-hours a day and will last until the project is completed later this summer. Local access will be maintained at all times. People walking and riding bikes will be detoured around the closure. Please follow detour signage.
If you have questions or concerns during construction, contact the project team at NSF@seattle.gov or 206-733-9361. Visit the project website to learn more about the improvements underway: www.seattle.gov/transportation/westwoodland.htm or click this link to sign up to receive project email updates.
