Electrical Plan Review Now Accepts Electronic Plan Submissions

DPD is now accepting electronic plans for electrical plan review through the DPD Project Portal. Through the portal you can submit plans, pay fees, review correction notices, and find the status of you project.

If you do not have a DPD Project Portal account, setting one up is easy. From DPD’s DPD home page (www.seattle.gov/dpd/), click on the “log in” link, above the status and activity map, to create an account. It’s a good idea to sign up for email notifications; this allows you to get notified when fees are due, correction notices are available, and when your permit is issued. If you already have a DPD account linked to your email address, that information will load automatically and you can select or edit the account information. If you need assistance with any of the steps, send an email to DPD_Portal@seattle.gov.

Once you have your account, you can start a preliminary application. Be sure to use the underlying construction project number as your related project number; the address for your project must match the address for the construction project permit. Be sure to include a good description of work. For example, “tenant improvement to live work unit for metal fabrication including larger service.” This will help your electrical plans examiner identify the scope of work. After you’ve entered the information and clicked the create project button, you will receive your Project Number.

Now you can enter project details, including the work location (floor, suite, etc.) and the value of work. The final step is uploading your plans, lighting summary, and other documents such as calculations, then click submit. You will get a printable verification of your project information and the documents that you submitted.
