Busy weekend ahead for Seattle area drivers

Drivers should expect delays due to special events and roadwork

Washington State Department of Transportation

Drivers should give themselves extra time to reach their destinations this weekend due to roadwork and special events that will draw large crowds.

Morning drivers using Interstate 5 should expect delays in both directions and changes to the express lanes schedule, which will adjust for northbound lane closures on the Ship Canal Bridge. The Interstate 90 express lanes schedule will also adjust for additional weekend traffic heading into and out of Seattle. Drivers are encouraged to combine trips, carpool or take transit.
