SDOT is advising travelers to be aware of events happening around the city through the weekend that will add to area traffic. The Mariners play Tuesday through Sunday at Safeco Field. The University District Street Fair runs Saturday and Sunday. There are three runs/walks on Sunday including Beat the Bridge. There are events at KeyArena and the Seattle Center on Saturday. On Sunday afternoon there is a Nordic heritage/ Norwegian Constitution day in Ballard.

University District Street Fair: The annual arts and music fair on University Way NE between NE Campus Parkway and NE 50th Street. Event hours are 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. NE 42nd, NE 43rd and NE 47th streets are closed from Brooklyn Avenue NE to 15th Avenue NE. (All streets are closed from Saturday, May 16th at 2:30 a.m. to Monday, May 18th at 2:30 a.m.) Load in begins on May 15th at 6:00 a.m. on NE 42nd and NE 47th streets for food zone set up. Madrona Mayfair: The children’s parade starts at 9:00 a.m. from Al Larkins Park to the Madrona Playground. The parade route is on 34th0Avenue from E Pike Street, and ends at E Spring Street at 9:45 a.m. Seattle Police will escort the parade. Shell No Flotilla – Paddle in Seattle: The first day of Shell No Action Council’s three day festival of resistance.
