Temporary Lane Closure on NE 145th for Curb Ramp Construction

Crews working for the Seattle Department of Transportation plan to install new curb ramps in the sidewalk on Northeast 145th Street at two locations on Monday, April 27. The ramps will be on the south side of Northeast 145th Street at the intersections of 31st Avenue Northeast and 32nd Avenue Northeast.  The crews expect to complete the project in approximately two weeks.

The eastbound curb lane on Northeast 145th Street will be closed at both intersections while crews are actively working, but the crews will open the lane before the afternoon peak travel time at the end of each work day.

Curb ramps make it safer and easier for people using wheelchairs, other wheeled devices, or the sight impaired to cross the street.  This work is part of a citywide effort to upgrade over 160 curb ramps at 29 locations, and will bring the curb ramps into compliance with the standards set by the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
